How would your cat decorate your home?

BlogAlinatur

Our furry feline friends are part of our family; we live with them and share our space and belongings with them. Have you ever wondered how your cat would decorate your home? Our home is their home too, so every piece of furniture we buy and every decorative item concerns them, because they will interact with these objects every day. We need to consider how they will react to certain textures, how they will play, whether their claws might damage something or whether it might put them off.

At BRAVERY, we are all for designers and brands creatively building furniture to improve the wellbeing of our beloved furry friends. It is essential for their wellbeing that they feel comfortable in their own home, the place where they spend most of their time.

Below, we show you a selection of fun pieces of furniture to give you some ideas. As well as being designer pieces that enhance the look of your home, they let you enjoy them together: your cats interacting with them and you watching them do so. Click on each product title to go to its website.

1. NEKO MODERN CAT TREE

The designer, Yoh Komiyama, started by asking himself whether it would be possible to design recreational furniture for cats that would fit well with architectural modernism or even art museums.

This luxury product clad in natural wood offers a private space for the cat while serving as a decorative interior object that blends perfectly into its surroundings. The gaps between each cylinder maintain a discreet connection between cat and humans. The Greek marble used for the base not only helps the cat regulate its body temperature more effectively, but also provides a low centre of gravity to stabilise the tree.

2. RADIATOR BED

This sturdy bamboo bed keeps your cat nice and warm during the winter. It makes use of a spot your home already has to make your cat happy; users say it comfortably fits an 8 kg cat. The wooden cover is a mat with very strong Velcro, and it is fully adjustable so you can choose the height of the central opening. Inside is a soft, cosy cushion. Suitable for most radiators.

3. KATRIS KAT

It is the ideal piece of furniture for fans of the classic game Tetris. It is undoubtedly one of the most fun on the list and offers a wide variety of combinations to suit whichever part of your home you want to decorate. A major advantage of this product is its versatility. As well as blending perfectly with the rest of your furniture, it gives you the chance to get creative and build your own custom piece: with 5 different blocks you can create bookshelves, a cat scratcher and climber, and even a coffee table for the living room.

Each KATRIS block is made from more than 200 sheets of heavy-duty cardboard. Users say it easily supports the weight and shows fewer signs of wear over time than most cat scratchers on the market. It is also made from premium cardboard, a 100% natural recyclable paper material, bonded with SGS-certified non-toxic glue throughout the assembly process to ensure it does not harm any cat.

4. BRIDGE SHELF

This is a hanging bridge that is fixed to the wall. It has two shelves, one at each end, and is one of the pieces of furniture cats enjoy most — we all know how much some of them love heights. You can enjoy it too, watching your cat have a whale of a time walking back and forth above your head. It is made of birch wood and has 8 steps connected with jute rope; it can be 145–160 cm long, depending on how taut it is, and can be shortened by removing some of the boards.

5. RETRO BOX. BEDSIDE TABLE

If you don't like being apart from your cat even when sleeping, and your cat loves it too, we have the solution to keep it close without disturbing each other when you move. The Retro Box is a beautiful, elegant cat bed. It is a cosy place to play and sleep, and also a great hiding place for shyer cats. Its modern design means it blends in nicely with the bedroom.
